The leaders of today has in Western society gone from manipulations in secret to quite open arrogance. And we as the people has in large contributed to this. With a general knowing that our most basic needs are met, and with a possibility to close our eyes to those who does not have this, we have become a little too comfortable.
In all possible ways we are fed. With food, with alcohol, with entertainment, with stuff and with experiences. Our senses has become numb with all that sugary, shallow, meaningsless and processed impressions and intakes. And to be sure that we will not start reacting to the manipulation that is done to us, we are served drama. Drama in the political sphere but most certainly comparable to docusoaps. By doing this, we have a sense of “participating” and “controlling”, even though the reality is that we are really puppets.
Already from school we learn that our most wanted qualities is to sit still and memorize facts we could as easily find on internet. Reflections, self love, empathy and dialogues in a loving way is far away from school reality. And then we continue as grown-ups, working from 8 to 14 to 20 hours a day. When, in fact, we could from tomorrow get full-paid jobs with only 5-6 hours. This has been proven from time to time, by some courageous professors. For deaf ears, by leaders, of course. What would and could we do the rest of our day? Think, reflect, participate, demand…?
Well, let us start small. Go for a walk today. Sit in nature and meditate. Tomorrow, help a neighbour in need and take the chance to get to know her/him. Then, read a book. Only cook noutricious food. Turn off the TV. Love. Yourself and others.
We love you.
